St John's Metropolitan Community Church invites and welcomes everyone! Our doors are open to all people in the community. We are an inclusive community. Throughout our history, inclusion has been and continues to be a pillar of strength at St. John's MCC.
At St. John's MCC, we fully believe in and embrace the diversity God has instilled in us. Our commitment to inclusion is evident in many aspects across our congregation, our clergy, and our staff, who are of many different racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, gender identities, and sexual orientations. Our congregation includes people of all ages, from infants, to people in their 80s. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, straight, and questioning people are all invited to worship and minister with us at St. John's MCC.
At St. John's MCC, we include everyone and have something to offer for all types of people. Our 9 AM worship experience involves more traditional church hymns and liturgical elements, while our 11 AM worship features more gospel music and traditions. We offer many different community outreach and engagement programs to give everyone a chance to get involved in a way they are comfortable with. We also offer regular study opportunities for Christian Discipleship to deepen our faith and gain a better understanding of what we each believe in and the God we follow. St. John's MCC is compelled by an unfinished calling and a prophetic destiny. We at the Metropolitan Community Churches are a global movement of spiritually and sexually diverse people who are fully awake to God's love. We follow the example of Jesus and are empowered by the Holy Spirit, and we aim to provide progressive church communities that demand, proclaim, and do justice in the world. The scripture teaches us that all people, including all races, LGBTQ people, women, and all other underrepresented groups are beautiful creations of God who deserve equal, fair, and just treatment and are invited to live in communion with God on the same basis as everyone else.
